I yearn for the day 100's of years ago when people picked their leaders by merit of public debates and newspaper articles. When writers like Madison and Hamilton could influence and unite the entire country with a stroke of their pen and personal attacks were an anathema to partake in. Writing anonymously via pseudonyms, they were judged solely by the content of their characters and self evident truths expounded through their words. Perhaps if Obama also took up the 'Publius' pseudonym more people might listen to his ideas.
